The Beginning

It began without beginning
In darkness with no dark.
The light filled, without shinning,
A presence with no apart.

A voice without a voice box
Sounded with no sound
Into a space which was spaceless
From a being with no bound.

Suddenly there was a now
And what now is - was.
The voice spoke, and it sounded,
"It is good, what I have done."

Broken

Broken people
Broken homes
Broken marriages
Broken molds

Broken streets
Broken cars
Broken cities
Broken yards

Broken systems
Broken ways
Broken traditions
Broken days

Broken hearts
Broken souls
Broken spirits
Broken bones

Brokenness
Surrounds my day
Brokenness
Becomes the way

Until one day
Something broke free
Brokenness fixed
Broken reality

Broken chains
Broken sin
Broken free
Never broken again

Feelings of Fall

The first feelings of Fall
Fall on me
Filling me with familiar,
Fond memories.

I find myself falling
Far, far away:
Far from every fearful,
Frantic reality.

And finally I am found
In a freeing fantasy
Surrounded by Fall’s falling
Fragmented leaves.

Join Me, Please

I’m writing. Won’t you
Join me, please?
I find it’s kind of lonely
When I’m dotting i’s and crossing t’s.
We could do it together-
It would be lots of fun.
We could write, while it’s raining,
About the summer sun.
And when it gets too cold outside
We will sit by the fire and read.
Read the words of ancient writers
As they beckon you and me.

I’m writing. Won’t you
Join me, please?
The world is far too empty
When it’s filled with only words by me.
Let us fill it together –
Full of fond memories.
We could write, when it’s summer,
About the Winter’s peace.
And when it gets too full down here
We will look to the stars and dream.
Dream about our future children
As they beckon you and me

A Small Remembrance

How fragile is the life we spend
How small our numbered days
One can hardly understand
How futile is the pursuit of worldly things

With somber grievance we make our dues
To you who lost
What we cannot imagine to lose.
You were cut short of what you thought you had
You lost all, you gave all,
For a bitter end

Your memory now is all that lives
It shall not fade 'till this world ends
Though anger took you on that day
Love will make you forever stay

If

If
Only I
Could touch the
Sky

Maybe
Then I
Would learn to
Fly

But
If I
Give my every
Best

Perhaps
My God
Will provide the
Rest

Likeable Dreams

Sometimes I just like to dream
Of ways to make you smile
For every smile encourages me
To hope a little while

Sometimes I just like to dream
About the way you think.
What do you find interesting?
What do you find neat?

Sometimes I just like to dream
That I am on your mind
But I know this must be far from truth
A hope for different times

Sometimes I just like to dream
Of starry, nighttime skies
And as one falls in a soft blue glow
I see it in your eyes

Sometimes I just like to dream
That you dream the same as I-
That you hope in what I hope for
And give my heart a try
