Waiting

It was a sunny, hopeful day-
The summer clouds brought pools of shade,
And I sat waiting in my place
With hope and love which could never fade

It was a sunny, blustery day-
The Autumn sky brought winds of change,
And I sat waiting in my place
Determined that patience would bring me grace

It was a cloudy, bitter day-
The winter winds brought icy pain,
And I sat waiting in my place
While bitter cold bit my empty face

It was a cloudy, rainy day-
The springtime rain washed all away,
And I sat waiting in my place
But from my heart all was erased

I waited till I knew not why
I lost what I never intended to find
Like a statue I stood 'till the end of time
While you moved on and lived your life

  1. Nicely done :-) As I read it, I wanted to hear it put to music...
