The Importance of the Present

And its time to let go
Of all the things I did know
Because where in the world did the leave me
But a place so lost and needy

And I'm sorry to let you know
That I am shaking from head to toe
Because all the world, it seems a bit brighter
When I let my flame grow higher

For every moment I'm awake
Every night I dream up late
All the seconds, the clock ticks on
Every sunset of every dawn
-Means the future is near-
And the past is gone

So I move on

And its time to look ahead
Looking forward to things unsaid
Because where in the world will they lead me
When I trust in Him so deeply

And I hope they quickly lead
To a place where I am free
Because the world, it seems a bit brighter
When our flame grows ever higher

For every day that passes by
Every starlit, nighttime sky
All the time I have right here
Every hour lived without fear
Means I'm drawing ever near
To a future bright and clear

So I press on
